Surrounded by open fields and woodland, it’s the perfect escape for couples or friends looking to unwind in nature and explore the surrounding beauty of the Teme Valley and beyond.
The single storey lodge is thoughtfully laid out, offering a comfortable and spacious kitchen/dining and living area with lovely views out across the field and woods – a perfect spot to watch local wildlife or simply enjoy the ever-changing scenery. The main bedroom features a king-size bed, while the second bedroom has two 3ft singles. The family bathroom includes a separate bath and walk-in shower, ideal for a relaxing soak after a day out exploring.The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for a self-catered stay, and has a separate utility room with laundry facilities for added convenience. Outside, you’ll find private seating areas where you can enjoy morning coffee, evening drinks or simply al fresco dining all while soaking in the peaceful rural surroundings. There is ample parking for several cars.
Despite its rural setting, the lodge is well-placed for exploring the local area. The charming market town of Tenbury Wells is just a short drive away as is Bromyard both known for its independent shops and cafés along with a cinema, theatre and lesuure centre it’s also has historic interests. Ludlow with its medieval castle and renowned food scene along with it’s local market in Ludlow Square is also nearby and well worth a visit. For walkers and nature lovers, the Malvern Hills and Wyre Forest offer miles of scenic trails along with Ludlows Mortimer forest. National Trust properties such as Croft Castle and Berrington Hall are perfect for history enthusiasts. The area also hosts local horse racing tracks such as Ludlow and Hereford.

Hosts were amazing. The Lodge was perfect- spotlessly clean. We wanted for nothing! All fixtures and fittings were high class quality. It was lovely chatting to Hazel each day - she’s a hard worker and sees to it that you have everything you need. 5 star rating across the board and hope to return soon. We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Sumner Lodge. The accommodation is absolutely first class in every way. Great thought has gone into the layout, furnishing and fitting out of the lodge. Everything one could ever want is provided and is of the highest quality. The rural setting is most peaceful with only birdsong and some wildlife to disturb the peace. Set up a hardcore track from the main road there is no road noise or passing traffic.On arrival there was a most generous welcome pack left by the super hosts Hazel and Bill. There was everything we needed to settle in including a most delicious home made cake. Hazel and Bill live close by and called when passing to give us hints and recommendations about the local area and also to make sure that we were comfortable in the lodge. All in all Sumner Lodge has been the best all round of the many cottages which we have stayed in. We would certainly return in the future and we confidently recommend it to others.

If you're after a peaceful break in an extremely well equipped lodge, then Sumner Lodge is the place for you. It's in an ideal location for exploring. The lodge itself was immaculate. It had everything you needed in the kitchen and utility room. It was quiet, no passing traffic, no light pollution. Ample parking. Lovely large bathroom with seperate double shower and large, deep bath. Modern decor. Plenty of fresh white fluffy towels. I couldn't fault our stay. The owners were friendly, helpful, full of great recommendations but they also respected our privacy. Can't wait to visit again.
