Apres Ski is set within the attractive village of Addingham, West Yorkshire, and offers a well-appointed lodge ideal for couples or small groups looking to enjoy a restful break. Inspired by the charm of an alpine retreat, this property blends cosy lodge-style décor with natural textures to create a welcoming mountain‑chalet atmosphere. Timber touches, soft furnishings, and thoughtful styling evoke the tranquility of a rustic hideaway, offering guests a relaxing, alpine‑inspired escape the moment they step inside. Carefully presented throughout, the property provides a comfortable and private place to return to after days spent exploring the surrounding countryside. Outside, an enclosed decking area with outdoor furniture and a hot tub offers a relaxing spot to sit back and unwind, particularly after walking in the nearby Yorkshire Dales.
Inside, the open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining and sitting areas, creating a sociable layout suited to shared holidays. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals at home, whether you are planning light lunches or relaxed evening dinners. The dining area encourages easy mealtimes together, while the sitting area provides a welcoming place to relax, with a woodburning stove adding warmth and character during cooler months. The lodge includes two well-arranged bedrooms, each designed to offer a good level of comfort and privacy. One features a super-king-size bed, while the second offers a king-size, and both benefit from en-suite walk-in shower rooms, making the property particularly appealing for couples travelling together.
On the first floor, a private sauna adds an extra touch of indulgence, providing a peaceful space to relax and recharge after days spent outdoors. Off-road parking is available for two cars, and the lodge is pet friendly, allowing guests to bring along their dogs to enjoy the many nearby walking routes. Addingham itself is a welcoming village with local shops, cafés and traditional pubs within easy reach. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for exploration, including the riverside walks and historic ruins at Bolton Abbey, which sits just a short drive away. The nearby spa town of Ilkley is known for its independent shops, eateries and access to Ilkley Moor, offering far-reaching views and varied walking trails.
Further afield, the market town of Skipton provides a lively atmosphere, with its impressive medieval castle, canal-side walks and regular markets. With the wider Yorkshire Dales close by, guests will find an abundance of scenic villages, open landscapes and well-loved landmarks to discover. Apres Ski provides a comfortable and well-located base for enjoying village life, countryside walks and the varied attractions found across Yorkshire.
The historic village of Addingham nestles in the valley of the River Wharfe between Ilkley and Skipton, just 3 miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. In the Doomsday Book, Addingham is referred to as 'Ediham', which probably meant 'Home of Edi', the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. A corn mill was mentioned in 1315, near where High Mill is today, and the weir across the river is one of the oldest medieval structures in the village. Today's village is a thriving, small community with several good pubs serving fine ale and excellent food, a scattering of small shops and a delightful golf course surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Nearby Bolton Abbey is one of the region's most scenic areas and the walk along the river to the 'Strid' is a must. The Victorian Spa town of Ilkley is worth a visit, with its wide streets, world-famous Box Tree Restaurant and Bettys Tea Rooms, while Ilkley Moor is the subject of Yorkshire's unofficial anthem “On Ilkla Moor Baht at”. Grassington and Malham are within reach, plus Skipton is also close by with its ancient castle, beautiful old parish church, colourful street market, canal trips and Embsay Steam Railway.
