Decking with sitting-out area and garden furniture. 10-acre natural grounds with patio, garden furniture, BBQ and summerhouse (shared with other properties on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking or e-cigarettes. Please note: No children under 12 years old, including babes in arms. There is an unfenced pond in the grounds, 50 yards away.. From the many species of birds, to hares, hedgehogs, deers and foxes you will see most of these if not all of them during your stay. The owners have made a wonderful nature reserve with a wildlife pond and bird feeding area. Take a seat at dusk to watch the barn owls swoop above. The crème de la crème is you are just over a mile from the rspb bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs. Here you can see thousands of migrating seabirds as well as the comical puffins that attract many visitors every year.
The lodge is of very high standard and although you have access to further shared gardens, the lodge is quite private and has its own decking with sitting-out area. The décor and furnishings are co-ordinated beautifully making it a delightful place to stay. There’s also a snug that overlooks the bird feeding area, perfect for that early evening glass of wine whilst watching the birds feed.
The vibrant city of York is less than an hour away and has been voted repeatedly as one of the top ten cities to visit, so it is not to be missed. There’s the majestic York Minster standing proud in the centre surrounded by an abundance of shops, restaurants, cafés, street entertainers, theatres and museums. The coastal resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head, Scarborough and Bridlington are just a short drive. This is a perfect base to visit the North Yorkshire Moors, the East Coast and the Yorkshire Wolds. Beach 2 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

What a gem to have found. High end lodge with comfort privacy at the for most. Beautiful setting the snug overlooking the bird feeders. We did take our own holder plus feed but no real need as Richard the owner tops them up frequently. Many varieties of bird come and it’s a joy to sit and watch them. Set in acres of grassland all mown with wildlife areas in between enduring diverse habitats for bids and animals. Nest boxes all over. Saw lots of hedgehog ***** but didn’t see them but they have a great place to roam. Richard and Lisa the owners very friendly and informative around if needed there is the art gallery on site and a lovely tea room as well so didn’t have to travel very far. The RSPB at Bempton about 5 minutes in the car so great to sea all the seabirds nesting on the cliffs. Birdwatchers paradise. If you want a very quiet location within easy reach of any amenities this is the place for you. Can’t recommend this holiday lodge enough. Thankyou also for the lovely gift box and the eggs were all double yoakers and the wine was lovely as well. Get booked up if you can you won’t be disapointed
