Having stayed at raywell hall country lodges previously my expectations were high. however, this experience did not live up to my previous experiences and i was disappointed. The beechwood spa lodge was an older model which was looking very tired and in need of refurbishment. it was however a large spacious lodge apart from the main bedroom which was small and cramped. there were two bathrooms which were only accessible from each bedroom so if you wanted to use the larger of the two which has a double shower you could only access this via the twin room and the other smaller bathroom was only accessible via the main bedroom. apart from the kitchen all areas of the lodge were poorly light. i am a fan of mood lighting myself but when this is all there is it is not sufficient for some tasks to be performed. It requires main lighting too.the access to the lodge had very steep steps- higher than a usual step which with my mobility issues and my blind furry member of the family mobility issues created us both a problem. unfortunately the decking area around the hot tub smelt of dog urine.on the positive side the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and the air fryer and nescafe dolce gusto machine were an extra touch.the privacy around the lodge is excellent and you are not overlooked or disturbed by your neighbours.we enjoyed the hot tub it was in excellent working order- although a little to hot and we were unable to alter the temperature ourselves- we had to leave the lid of for approx 30 minutes so it could loose some of its heat before using.

The lodge was lovely and clean on arrival and we enjoyed our stay! I chose this one as it had an enclosed garden for my dog and the hot tub and outdoor furniture were all under a big metal gazebo. My only negative thoughts were they could have provided surface cleaner to clean the kitchen and more than one tea towel. Also the garden did have high fences at the bottom but there was a section on the decking which most medium sized dogs would be able to jump over if left unattended.

Beechwood spa was very warm and comfortable. Extremely dog friendly and the outside areas with hot tub excellent. Definitely recommend.
