We recently returned to Raywell Lodges for our second stay, having had such a lovely experience the first time. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t quite live up to our previous expectations, which was a real shame given the premium price and how much we’d been looking forward to returning.Positives:
The location and rural setting are as beautiful as ever – peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a relaxing break. The accommodation itself is spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and we appreciated having both a bath and a shower. The lodge had nice touches such as an air fryer, and the woodland walk on-site is lovely. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.Negatives:
Sadly, the lodge felt quite tired this time around and in need of some general repairs and refurbishment. The dishwasher was broken, the arcade machine didn’t work, and the hot tub was unfortunately rather grimy. Overall, it feels like the lodges are becoming a little overused and not quite maintained to the standard they once were.

Lodge was lovely with a great view from the living area. Had a table that converted to a pool table & table tennis which all the family loved and got used daily. Also had an arcade machine - was decent but unsure on which buttons to press and analogue stick didn’t always work. Bedrooms were good size. Stayed in master room and had a small walk in wardrobe, bed comfy and spacious.
