Alderson Mews is a charming, well-equipped cottage in a peaceful village setting, praised for its immaculate cleanliness and relaxing hot tub. Guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs, the helpful and responsive owner, and the cottage’s suitability as a base for exploring the East Coast and Yorkshire Wolds. The property is described as cosy and homely, with most essentials provided. While a few minor maintenance issues and accessibility concerns were noted, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended choice for couples, families, and pet owners seeking a tranquil getaway.
The majority of reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and well-presented, with several guests noting that it is immaculate even though it is pet-friendly. Only one review mentioned a minor issue with the hoover, but this did not detract from the overall high standard.
Guests consistently praise the peaceful and quiet village location, with easy access to Driffield, the coast, and local attractions. The lack of a village shop is mentioned, but nearby amenities are easily reached by car.
The cottage is frequently described as cosy, comfortable, and homely, with a warm welcome on arrival. A few guests mentioned very soft beds and pillows, which may not suit everyone, and one guest with mobility issues found access challenging.
The property is well-equipped, with the hot tub being a standout feature. Guests appreciate the enclosed garden, kitchen amenities, and overall provision of essentials. A few minor maintenance issues were noted, such as oven markings and a broken chair, but these were exceptions.
Several guests mention the owner’s helpfulness and responsiveness, and a welcome pack (such as chocolate and coffee pods) was noted by one reviewer. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

Lovely cottage, we liked the location, there were lovely walks close to the cottage we could enjoy with our 2 Labradors for their early morning and evening walks. Bridlington Beach was a short drive (about 25 mins but totally worth it - Hornsea was not as good) there was plenty of room for 2 adults and the 2 dogs. The hot tub was amazing after a day of exploring, the sofa in the cottage was comfortable and the kitchen had everything that we needed to cook, would definitely book again

The cottage was comfy but the bed and pillows were so soft that I had to sleep on the sofa for support for my back. The oven had had all the markings rubbed off so we were unable to tell what setting or temperature we were using. One of the dining chairs was broken so had to sit on it very carefully. Recycling bin outside was full to the top so couldn’t use it. The cottage has been sold so anybody who has it booked be aware. Rest of cottage was fine, just not up to the standard I expect.
