This historical gem has been restored to offer comfortable accommodation with a quirky exterior as well as interior. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of open countryside, this holiday home is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering unparalleled bird watching, hiking and cycling opportunities. The Coastal Path is only a mile from here.

The interior boasts a quirky charm, with open-plan double bed room shared with the living room, a kitchen featuring a breakfast area to accommodate four. A spacious wet room-style bathroom ensures comfort with handrails within the shower area and next to the toilet, and a heated towel rail.
Ascending to the first floor reveals two further double bedrooms offering far-reaching views towards the River Humber across open countryside, alongside a family bathroom with a corner bath and shower over. Outside, a garden with seating beckons for unwinding amidst nature’s embrace. The garden is surrounded by mature hedges but remains unenclosed due to its location within a conservation area.

For outdoor adventures, the nearby Spurn Point Nature Reserve beckons with its seal colonies and diverse birdlife, while golden beaches await at Easington and Withernsea. Just a short drive away, the vibrant cities of Beverley and Hull offer a myriad of cultural delights, from theatres to The Deep aquarium, and ample shopping opportunities, all within a 30-minute journey. RSPB Bempton Cliffs can be found further up the coast, whilst the stately home of Burton Constable is well worth a visit.
On your return you can enjoy a pre-ordered delicious home-cooked meal lovingly prepared by the owners. In the morning you can treat yourselves to a delicious Full English breakfast in the owners’ private kitchen in the former classroom. Beaches 10 miles. 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 owners are in residence in the former classrooms.

Fantastic find . The access was a little tricky with my mum that has walking disability as loose gravel but once we worked it out and the owner going above and beyond to help with a access ramp over the step to the door . Inside was perfect for mum and the wet room and double bed on the ground floor made it very easy for her . Location is very quiet but half an hour to an hour and you can get to some beautiful beaches and burton Constable which is beautiful place and has different events on so definitely worth a check out and visit . Lovely place to eat if you fancy a night a pub just 12 mins away that also has deals on each night called The Carnenton . Excellent food and not too expensive with large portions . Would definitely recommend the old school house if you want the perfect location to just relax away from the hustle and bustle . Very good would definitely return .

We had a lovely stay at The Old School House. The owners were friendly and helpful and we met their two little dogs. The owner Kevin told us a lot about the history of the old school and schoolhouse and its renovation. The school house was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The double bed downstairs adjoining the lounge area and downstairs wet room is ideal for less mobile people. We needed to keep our dog in a lead in the garden as it isn’t completely fenced off from the owners garden, not completely secure. The area is so quiet with lovely views over flat countryside, pleasant walks along the lanes with virtually no traffic and there’s the coastal path from Stone Creek. There were wonderful sunsets across the field. There was a bookcase in the communal area filled with books, DVDs and board games. The owner Silke does offer meals but we self catered and drove into Thorpgumbald , about 6 miles , to the Co op although we did use a NISA store In Keyingham about 4 miles away. We found a nice dog friendly pub The Station Hotel in Patringham . Lovely places to visit- Hornsea Mere, Burton Constable Hall, Spurn Point ( no dogs allowed) but a lovely nearby pub The George and Dragon.
