A lovely property hosted by Mike and Jenny who couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended.

Comfortable, well located and a fascinating little village with plenty of historic interest. The large church looked interesting too, but I have a dog so I was denied that small pleasure. I enjoyed the fact that the shower included a standard head because you don't always want to wash your hair - you have both standard and "tropical rain forest" options here. Plenty of routes for walking a dog, including a reasonably close (five minutes drive) rentable field for dogs like Bertie who's a bit antisocial with anything else with four legs. Shopping was well catered for, and close, with a particularly impressive greengrocer, bakery and charity shop. Eating out seems to present many possibilities, and though I didn't sample any of them personally there were huge queues for both chippies on Saturday night which speaks volumes. A couple more teaspoons might be helpful, as would one of those little suction shelves for the shower so you're not constantly bending down for soap et al. This was a writing retreat for me, rather than a holiday, and tables are important so a reasonable desk in addition to the kitchen table was perfect for me. Loads of bedroom storage, a comfortable bed and efficient heating. Sadly, having a dog meant that I couldn't walk the full length of Spurn Head, which is within easy striking distance. Super to drive past the Greenwich meridian when returning from a beach walk :-) Friendly hosts who demonstrated the key features and then left me to it = perfect.
