About this property

Snowdrop Cottage is a delightful stone built Victorian farm workers’ cottage situated in the conservation village of Clifford close to Wetherby, Boston Spa and Bramham and only 5 minutes from the A1 and A64 with easy access to the historic city of York, the Moors, Dales and all Yorkshire’s finest sights. Buses stop right outside the terrace to whisk you into the stylish town of Harrogate or the buzzing city of Leeds.

Pass through the flower filled front courtyard garden with white wrought iron seating and through the original front door into a delightful beamed sitting room, where reclaimed wooden floors glow throughout the ground floor; colours are warm and golden. A small log burner sits in the stone hearth and through a low doorway is a separate dining area leading to a bright characterful kitchen with oak work tops, a Belfast sink, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A stable door leads outside to a small table and chairs, perfect for a glass of wine in the evening sun.

On climbing the old staircase you will find the Rose Room, which has a sweet single bed and rose patterned wall paper. Next to this a modern bathroom with shower over the bath is shared with the gorgeous Master Bedroom, a rustic but stylish space with aquamarine walls and white painted floor boards, a vintage fireplace, crisp white cotton sheets and cushions from Kashmir adorn the iron kingsize bed. The duvet and pillows are feather and down, so sink into bed at the end of a hard day’s sightseeing and awake to far reaching views as you sip your morning tea. Within walking distance is lively Boston Spa, which has lately seen a boom in cafes, bars and restaurants. Nearer to hand in Clifford there are a couple of pubs within walking distance serving fine ales. The fish and Chip shop is excellent. Enjoy an early supper at the Red Lion in Bramham, 4 minutes’ drive away.

Wetherby is 3 miles away, it’s a vibrant Market Town with an excellent market on Thursdays. Look out for the cheese man and his selection of local produce. Other local destinations are Harewood House ( 20 mins) and on the doorstep Bramham Park, home to the Horse Trials and the Leeds Festival. So many reasons to stay in this romantic Yorkshire cottage near Wetherby

It was very cosy and has everything we needed, the beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. There was a lot to do near by for young children such as stockeld park and our daughter had a lovely week. Thank you!

As described. As a period property it is bound to have its draughts. Unfortunately the weather was incredibly cold during our visit and whilst the heating worked fine the log burner was essential and struggled to keep up. The main bedroom was warm and snug but the living room struggled with the cold air whistling through the front door. A curtain over the front door and at bottom of stairs would help tremendously.

It was very cosy and even though the weather was quite damp and a bit chilly we didn’t need to light the log burner. The heating was set to come on regularly. We had the owner’s details and could contact her if we had any issues. We had none. We had a lovely stay. We found a pub within walking distance and very friendly locals - a good base to visit friends and family. Would stay again.
