The dining space sits at the centre, making it a natural gathering point, while the sitting area offers a laid-back corner to unwind with the TV on after a wander around the countryside. The lodge has three double bedrooms, each well set out to help you switch off properly after a full day out. A bright bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin and WC ties everything together. With WiFi, central heating, and all your bed linen and towels ready for you on arrival, the place keeps things stress-free from the moment you step through the door. Brigg is easily reached and worth a wander, with independent shops, riverside paths, cafés and a friendly, traditional feel.

Lincoln is also within comfortable travelling distance and rewards the effort with its cathedral, castle and lively uphill streets full of history and character. If browsing antiques is more your pace, Horncastle provides plenty of choice and sits right on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a lovely area for long countryside walks. All told, Aspen Lodge gives you a straightforward and well-placed base for dipping into everything Lincolnshire does well, quiet rural beauty, welcoming towns and plenty to see and do.
The historic market town of Brigg is a small market town in North Lincolnshire and is built on the crossing of the River Ancholme, and was granted a charter in 1235. The town hosts two regular markets: a farmers and a street market. A significant number of buildings in the town centre date back to the late 1700s or early 1800s and are listed. The old town has been designated as a Conservation Area. The gently rolling landscape and picturesque villages prove a magnet for cyclists, walkers, and wildlife lovers, with the Viking Way offering many quiet trails and country lanes to explore. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the local courses at Elsham, Forest Pines, or Normanby Park, or the tree-lined, 18-hole golf course at Market Rasen, visit the National Hunt racecourse, or spend a day on one of the Lincolnshire Coast's unspoilt sandy beaches. Visit Lincoln, with its 11th-century castle, beautiful cathedral, and vast array of shops. For antique lovers, Europe's largest antiques centre at Hemswell and the market town of Horncastle are within easy reach. Journeying north, visit Hull, the city of culture in 2017, Beverley, a lovely market town full of history with a beautiful minster church, and York with a wealth of places to visit.
