Situated at one of the of the gateways to Broughton Sanctuary, Low Lodge is a superb detached property sleeping four guests. Located near the popular market town of Skipton, and commanding views across the extensive and magnificent grounds, this hideaway is a perfect for a couples retreat, or for a small family getaway, in the Yorkshire Dales.

Inspired by the nature that surrounds it, Low Lodge has been thoughtfully decorated with vibrant and comfortable interiors throughout the whole of the convenient ground floor accommodation. Large windows in the stylish sitting room frame views of the stunning grounds, and the wood burning stove adds additional warmth and ambient light during the cooler months. The well-equipped kitchen features a Belfast sink, and the dining area seating four guests. Two steps lead down into the boot/utility room, which is an extremely handy place for walkers to dry muddy boots and wet weather gear after exploring the 3,000 acres grounds of the Sanctuary, or one of the surrounding dales, such as Lower Wharfedale. Two individually designed super-king size bedrooms are situated either side of the sitting room, and each features luxurious soft furnishings, comfortable beds, and panoramic views through large windows. Furthermore, guests can enjoy a relaxing soak in the family bathroom, complete with roll-top bath. Outside, the courtyard area with garden furniture provides a welcome space to be enjoyed.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, with Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds featuring as the backdrop to many shoots, including Emily, Gentleman Jack, Ridley Road and, of course, All Creatures Great and Small, as the home of Mrs Pumphrey and her infamous dog Tricki Woo. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.

The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre, home to an indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, PT Studio and sauna, all of which are available on request (please contact us for more information).
