A few minutes walk from Skipton’s bustling town centre, yet with peaceful walks on the doorstep, Whitehorn Lodge offers an ideal base from which to explore the area. Skipton, ’Gateway to the Dales’, has a thriving town centre with a large variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms, a Medieval castle and canal along which boat trips can be taken. It is also host to a market four days a week. Picturesque Grassington, is only 15 minutes drive with Wensleydale, Swaledale and Ribblesdale all within an hours drive.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay. Trotted about on foot, buses and train. Hardly used the car. Plenty to do round and about. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely return.

Whitethorn Lodge is one of the best we’ve ever stayed in, Debs was very helpful when we arrived, the cottage is warm and very cosy the photos don’t do it justice! The bus stop is very close and from Skipton bus station you can get to lots of interesting places, we also took the train to Carlisle very scenic! We’ll definitely return, thanks again Debs you’re a star ⭐️
