Barn Cottage in Bedale is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its peaceful location, cosy atmosphere, and secure garden. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space, off-road parking, and the added touches like welcome packs. While some found the cottage initially cold and the drive narrow, the majority enjoyed the local walks, the village pub, and the property's suitability for dogs. The cottage's charm and location make it a popular choice for return visits.
Most guests found Barn Cottage to be clean and comfortable. However, one review mentioned dust and cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness. The majority of feedback, though, indicates a high level of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location of Barn Cottage is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to local market towns, and ease of access to the Dales. The village green setting and the nearby pub add to the appeal, making the location ideal for a holiday retreat.
Guests generally found the cottage to be cosy and comfortable, especially noting the comfy beds and wood burner. Some guests, however, mentioned that the sofas were not as comfortable and that the cottage was cold upon arrival, indicating some variability in comfort levels.
The cottage is well-equipped according to guests, with a secure garden and off-road parking. Criticisms include a narrow drive, the need for leads in the shared drive, and an outdoor freezer that was described as old and dirty. These points suggest that while facilities are generally good, there is some need for maintenance and updates.
Several reviews mention welcome packs for both guests and dogs, which are appreciated and add a thoughtful touch to the stay. It should be noted that such gifts, while enjoyed by previous guests, are not guaranteed for every stay.

A beautifully presented holiday cottage with the added attraction of parking and an enclosed garden. Loved the log burner and comfy bed. Very well equipped in a great spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barn Cottage. It was spacious, warm and so well equipped. Great to have off road parking, although it is quite tight getting up the drive to the garage, not for the faint hearted but my husband had no qualms! The garden is lovely, we are hoping to book a stay in the spring/summer to enjoy some time outside if we get a chance.Although local amenities are few it is well located to get out in the car to get whatever you need and to also visit all the delightful places that this part of Yorkshire has to offer.Neighbours were also friendly which was a bonus.
