Guests say

The Wheel House is a charming and characterful cottage set in a tranquil, remote location with stunning countryside views. Guests consistently praise its peaceful setting, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen, making it ideal for exploring North Yorkshire. The hosts are frequently commended for excellent communication and helpfulness. While most reviews are highly positive, a few mention minor maintenance and cleanliness issues, and the garden is not fully enclosed for dogs. Overall, the property offers a relaxing and memorable stay, perfect for those seeking peace and beautiful surroundings.

Most guests found the property clean and comfortable, but a few noted issues such as crumbs, dust, and dirty windows. These appear to be exceptions rather than the norm.

The location is widely praised for its peace, tranquillity, and beautiful views, with easy access to local walks and nearby villages. Its remoteness is a highlight for many guests.

Guests describe the cottage as spacious, comfortable, and well-furnished, though one review mentioned low, unsupportive sofas. Overall, comfort is a strong point.

The cottage is well-equipped with a good kitchen, games, and books. Some minor maintenance issues were mentioned, such as blinds, locks, and garden fencing, but these did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts of wine and biscuits, and proactive communication from the hosts. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had a really lovely week. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had everything we needed in the house, and was lovely sitting in the garden looking at the birds and livestock. It was just right for visiting everywhere locally. We shall definitely be back. Aimee was really helpful with all the information we needed before we went.

The Wheel House is a quirky cottage full of character. It is located remotely with a only a cottage next door, sheep, rabbits and pheasants for company. It is perfect for a base to explore North Yorkshire with plenty of places to visit. The cottage is well appointed with everything you need a selection of games and books. It has great areas to walk and stunning views, I loved early morning runs around the local area, just so relaxing.
