About this property
Located just outside the village of Pickhill with far reaching views towards the Hambleton Hills, and within close proximity to the popular market towns of Thirsk, Bedale and Ripon, is LaLo, a detached, bright and airy barn conversion. Perfectly located for easy access to both the Dales and the North York Moors National Parks, this charming hideaway offers a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area.
Offering luxury accommodation for family and friends, LaLo has the added benefit of being all on one floor. The open-plan living space has a well-equipped kitchen overlooking the countryside that surrounds the cottage, a dining area seating up to six guests with french doors leading out onto the patio, and a sitting area flooded with natural light from the arched window, and a wood burning stove making it a perfect hideaway to come back to on chillier days. Both bedrooms (a king-size and a double) are well-appointed and comfortable, with views across the open farmland and each benefiting an en-suite shower room.
The driveway that leads to LaLo sets the scene for a wonderful break in the countryside. The large garden wraps around the cottage and a paved patio area is an idyllic spot to enjoy a morning coffee in peace. The property is next to a working farm, which at times will have a seasonal harvest and be busy with lambing. Guests of Lalo will be thoroughly relaxed during their stay. There are an abundance of small market towns close by with attractions for all ages, such as Lightwater Valley for the younger ones, or Thorpe Perrow Aboretum and Bird of Prey Centre for all ages. Lalo is the perfect base for exploring Yorkshire.

Our stay at LaLo Cottage was amazing. The cottage is beautiful, has everything you would want and Graham and his wife were brilliant hosts. We needed to work from the cottage which was a breeze with a very good broadband connection. Graham provided an extra desk as we both had to work which was very accommodating. The cottage is on a working farm as described but we had no disturbance. There were sheep and lambs in the field next to the cottage and it was lovely to wake up in the morning and see them jumping around the field. The two ensuite bedrooms were spacious, but we only slept in one at the end of the cottage which had a very comfortable bed. Heating was underfloor, that warmed the cottage perfectly and on cold nights the log burner was a great addition. Graham was great topping up the logs and kindling as required. Overall this is a superb place to stay and explore Yorkshire (including the walks straight from the front door). We highly recommend a stay here and we will be back.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, superbly well-equipped. A clean and comfortable cottage with stunning views. Lovely walks right from the doorstep. A real bonus to see the lambs being born and the first calf of the year. Very friendly and attentive hosts.

We had a super time over Christmas at Lalo. With family in the village of Pickhill it was the ideal place to stay. We would have liked bigger towels, but apart from that everything was perfect.
