My stay was very comfortable in a beautiful setting. The house was what I hoped for. It offered me a countryside fix with access to the outdoors and the hiking I love. If you want access by foot for a shop or pub this is not the place for you.

We had a fabulous 4 days over Christmas at West Cottage. With family coming from London, Cambridge, Manchester and Edinburgh, the beautiful house was perfect for the 6 of us, both in location, size and amenities.What a stunning holiday home. When we arrived the property was spotlessly clean, warm, and so welcoming with the Christmas Tree lights on.The kitchen/dining room was large, and well equipped. Christmas dinner for 6 prepared without any problems at all. It's a bit hit and miss for utensils in holiday homes, this one is a definite hit.The shower was great, and having a downstairs toilet was helpful for my parents who struggle with stairs.3 large bedrooms meant we had more than enough space upstairs, and the spare pillows were appreciated (some of the ones on the beds were a bit hard for most of us, loving a feather alternative!).A utility room where we could leave our bags/boxes/boots, and some good walks right from the front door (also close enough to explore the surrounding moors). Good parking at the house, and plenty of space on the street in front. We had a problem on boxing day which meant we had to get in touch with the owner, but they responded very quickly, and were out to the property within 45 minutes, providing a solution - thank you.Doubts? cast them aside and book!
