We stayed in Cedar Lodge. We took some of our own cooking equipment after reading reviews. All appliances and surfaces had been wiped over but some dirt lurked in crevices. Bathrooms looked to have been refurbished and were fine. Plenty of hot water. Fridge nice and cold. Could not get wall heater in the double bedroom to work. Huge wardrobe in double room made the space very cramped. Adults in twin room complained the beds were very uncomfortable and more like camp beds - more suitable for children than adults. Light coloured fabric of sofas not very practical for dogs - with the best will in the world it was difficult to keep them off the furniture at all times - blankets covering sofas or loose covers would have been more practical after wet and muddy walks even after paws cleaned! Size of TVs in bedrooms fine but one in lounge could have been bigger so all of us could watch comfortably. Enclosed patio was good. Overall fairly basic accommodation in lovely quiet setting with nice dog walk adjoining.

The equipment there was very limited. Could have done with a long handled brush to sweep the floors at the least. There was a strange smell coming from one of the toilets that didnt go despite buying toilet cleaner.

Lovely lodge, everything you need for a week away, parking onsite, and a decked area for sitting out, only a few lodges on the site, so great for a relaxing holiday. Handy for visiting York, Harrogate, Ripon. Lovely breakfast in Masham, which is only a few miles away. The second time we have stayed, as dog friendly too. Would recommend.
