One of the top tourist destinations in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the well-liked market town of Hawes, which is located in North Yorkshire's Richmondshire region. The town, which is situated between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss, is a great starting point for exploring Wensleydale as well as the neighbouring dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale, and Chapel-le-Dale. Take a stroll around the adjacent Hawes Town Trail, Millennium Walk, Pennine Way, or River Ure. The English Tourist Board Silver Award for the "Best Day Trip Out" was given to Hawes in 1998. Coaches and horse-drawn waggons have long since been replaced by modern transportation, but market day (Tuesday) in Hawes remains bustling as ever thanks to a farmers' auction that draws sheep farmers from across the north of England.
