We enjoyed our weekend at The Bothy. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and not intrusive, though on-hand if we needed anything. The Bothy is a lovely space, small but perfectly formed. We were cosy and comfortable, while the wind howled outside. It was lovely to be able to walk from the front door, down the farm lane and onto the Yoredale Way. We enjoyed a good meal at the Crown Inn in Askrigg, and a tasty lunch at the Wensleydale Creamery on the other side of the valley. Enjoyed a good walk at Aysgarth Falls, which were in full flow and very impressive, with so much rain having fallen. In all, a lovely weekend away from the city, just the ticket!

Found everything we needed and the local pub post office /shop . Good as a base for what we needed to do. Pity we didn’t get to meet the owners . Would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Cosy bothy in peaceful hamlet. The bothy is well-equipped for self-catering with a great log burner. Excellent location for exploring Wensleydale with fairly easy pub walks to Askrigg, Aysgarth and Caperby. Hawes and Hardraw short drive and Swaledale easily accessible by car. Small village shop in Askrigg and a couple places in Hawes for supplies. Had a day trip to Richmond and there's a big Tesco superstore in Catterick Garrison. Loads to do in the area, walks, castles, abbeys, waterfalls... especially in the summer months. Loved the stay and the location.
