Gunnerside 1 mile. This is a traditional country cottage near the village of Gunnerside in North Yorkshire. Families would find this cottage the perfect spot with the cosy sitting room and fantastic outdoor opportunities nearby. Step into Joe House and enter straight into the fabulous farmhouse style kitchen featuring traditional flagstone flooring and beautifully-finished with fantastic, modern fixtures and fittings. The cosy sitting room offers comfortable seating and a woodburning stove, the ideal spot to sit back, relax, and admire the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and countryside. Joe House boasts original stone steps to the upstairs, a floor with two well-presented bedrooms set with ample storage and some fantastic views.

A bright, fresh bathroom completes the interior of this charming cottage. In the warmer weather, why not sit out in the front garden with a cold drink whilst the children run and play on the lawn. Gunnerside is a short trip away, a village brimming with breathtaking scenery. It boasts splendid stone houses as well as a tea room and bistro, and a takeaway. This area is full of fantastic market towns including Reeth and Richmond, well worth visiting. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also a must-do, endless exploring for you and the family. Joe House is a fantastic traditional cottage in a stunning location.

Situated in the heart of Swaledale, Gunnerside is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales National Park. Something of a sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows, pastures and fells, with the pretty Gunnerside Beck running through the village centre before joining the glorious River Swale on the village outskirts. Amongst the cluster of old stone houses there is Ghyllfoot Tea Room and the village pub serves good food at lunchtime and in the evening. The market towns of Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Barnard Castle are all within 15 miles making Gunnerside a scenic and central base from which to tour the Dales.

    It was comfortable and warm. The only criticism I would have is that more warning about how steep the stairs are might be useful for when booking. I managed but don’t know for how much longer. Enjoyed all the information about the renovation of the cottage. Very interesting.

    Very well equipped, warm and comfortable. Stunning scenery from every window..even a view from the loo. The stone stairs are a bit of a challenge so not advised for those with mobility issues. Everything has been thought of. Didn’t want the week to end! Cathy.x
