Helmsley Lodge in Pickering offers a private and comfortable stay with a well-maintained hot tub and garden. Guests appreciate the clean, homely environment and the lodge's suitability for couples. The on-site bar and restaurant provide good value, and the location is convenient for the town centre and local attractions.
The lodge is generally found to be clean and comfortable, with daily maintenance of the hot tub noted. However, some guests reported issues with cleanliness, such as dirty glass doors and a damp smell, which affects the score.
There is not enough information to accurately score the location as reviews are mixed and do not focus on the location's attributes.
The lodge is praised for its comfortable beds and sofas, though some guests mention that the beds are short and one is inconveniently placed against a wall.
Facilities like the hot tub and kitchen are well-received, but some guests have noted worn furniture, lack of a shaver point, and minor maintenance issues, which slightly lower the score.
Guests have mentioned complimentary biscuits, although they were out of date. The staff's helpfulness and the provision of cleaning tools suggest thoughtfulness, but as gifts are not guaranteed, this is reflected in the score.
