Access through the door which leads you onto a cobbled enclosed yard, reminiscent of its horse-drawn coach era, sets the tone for the unique experience awaiting you. As you step through your private entrance and ascend the staircase, you’re greeted by a characterful interior that seamlessly blends modern comforts with quirky original features. The spacious and open-plan living area invites relaxation, with sumptuous seating around the TV and a dining table for shared meals. The separate kitchen, tastefully designed and fully equipped, ensures culinary delights are easily prepared. On the first floor, discover the family bathroom featuring a luxurious freestanding bath and shower, along with two inviting bedrooms, a cosy double and a kingsize bedroom beneath beamed ceilings, the latter boasting its own en-suite shower. We were really happy with Higgledy Hideout and enjoyed our week there. It was clean, cosy with great facilities. Lovely comfy beds, large family bathroom plus en suite which is great if you’re taking children or extended family. The holiday let is in the centre of Thornton-Le-Dale and so is close to two pubs, cafe’s, ice cream parlour, convenience store, fish and chip shop and deli. The village is lovely and picturesque to have an evening stroll. We only had to park on the car park once as we found that spaces were available on the same street if you arrive back around 5pm. We visited Dalby Forest, Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Whitby, Sandsend, Ryedale Folk Museum and Eden Camp. So lots to do in the area. Equally if you just want to get away and relax then it’s perfect for that also. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise (we left the dog treats as our dog has recently been poorly and on a low fat diet - but thank you!). Thank you to the owners as we really enjoyed our stay!
