Horcum View is a holiday bungalow located in the heart of Lockton with views over the North Yorkshire Moors. Peaceful location, with the occasional sound of the steam train chugging its way through the valley. Take a journey on the steam train (Levisham station ½ mile) through the heart of the National Park. North Yorkshire Moors are home to abbeys, castles and cycle/bridle paths. Visit Castle Howard, Yorkshire’s finest historic house and estate, or Eden Camp, a unique museum. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Our second visit and we would happily stay here again should we holiday in the north east. Save the very occasional military jet overfly and the distant whistle of a steam train from the North York Moors heritage railway a lovely quiet village. For nature enthusiasts the owners provide food for the multitude of birds visible from the conservatory - our visit this year recorded 18 species and the records of other visitors suggest there are a number more. The cottage provides comfortable accommodation and on both occasions was presented very clean and tidy. For our visit there was on arrival some milk, tea, a few biscuits, and one or two other essentials in case you arrive without suppliesThe nearby town of Pickering provides the supplies of food, takeaways etc you may need and there are 2 pubs should you want to dine out within 1 1/4 miles

We have just had an excellent stay in yorkshire and this cottage has made it perfect the weather was excellent and we made use of the lovely outside space. The wildlife life is amazing the cottage itself is spotless its is very well equipped with everything you need and is extremely comfortable i think this has been our 3rd visit and it will not be our last excellent
