Stonecroft is a well-presented, cosy cottage praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and high-quality decor. Guests enjoyed the convenient location near the North York Moors and coast, with a pub offering good meals nearby. The property is dog-friendly and considered excellent value for money.
Guests consistently noted the property as spotless and very clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the cottage.
The cottage is appreciated for its excellent location, close to Pickering, the North York Moors, and the coast, with a quiet pub next door. However, the lack of a local shop within walking distance was noted.
Reviewers found the beds and pillows super comfortable, and the cottage cosy, especially with the woodburning stove, contributing to a relaxing stay.
The property is well-equipped and maintained, with modern fixtures and a well-equipped kitchen. Some minor feedback mentioned the lack of certain kitchen items, but overall the facilities met guests' needs.
While some 'arrival essentials' like tea, coffee, and washing tablets were provided, there were no specific mentions of gifts, and thus it cannot be confirmed if such thoughtfulness is a consistent practice.

A cosy, comfortable and spotless cottage a short drive from Pickering and a good base for exploring the area. The bedrooms are spacious with lovely quality bedding and the shower was perfect. Parking was great and right outside the door so easy for packing and unpacking. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Perfect week for New Year’s Eve. We visited Whitby, Helmsley and Dolby Forest. Perfect central location for all of these. We ate in the buck inn a couple of times which was perfect. Only negative was the garden not being secure for our dog.

We stayed over Christmas and it was the most amazing time. Bed’s super comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had the log burner roaring and felt so cosy. We ate at the Buck Inn pub, literally 15 steps away, the food and atmosphere were perfect. Our granddaughter loved her bedroom and said it was the best sleep she’s had. Just a couple of things to be aware of, there wasn’t any condiments, so make sure you take salt & pepper. Luckily the Buck Inn gave us some. Also, it wasn’t decorated for Xmas, which we were aware of in advance as I had asked, so I took a pop up tree and few trimmings to make it festive. The garden is lovely but it isn’t fenced off for your pooches. Overall I would 100% recommend Stonecroft cottage and definitely return.
