Nestled in the charming coastal town of Filey in North Yorkshire is Pinder’s Retreat. This charming, dog-friendly holiday home benefits from a spectacular location close to the golden shores of FIley Beach, local amenities and the picturesque North York Moors National Park, as well as off-road parking for two cars and two well-appointed bedrooms; the perfect setting for small families, friends or couples looking to explore North Yorkshire. Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home to find a welcoming sitting room where you can unwind on either of the plush sofas in front of the Smart TV and warmth of the electric fire.
Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a delicious meal for the whole family which can then be enjoyed at the dining table. After dinner, step outside to savour the last of the evening with drinks on the patio; don’t forget to raise a toast to your well-earned retreat. When the evening draws to a close, travel upstairs to wash off the day’s adventures in the shower room before sloping off to sleep in either the double or twin bedroom. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic setting find local shops paces away where you can stock up on self-catering essentials and pubs including The Star, The Boat Shed and The Station.
Take advantage of Pinder’s Retreat close setting to the beach by taking a leisurely stroll to Filey Beach where you can while away days on its shores while your beloved canine companion runs free; follow the coast to join the Cleveland Way trail which runs along the coast offering unbeatable views over the North Sea. Venture further north to discover the historic seaside town of Scarborough where you can immerse yourself in the area’s past at Scarborough Castle and Scarborough Prison or head into North York Moors National Park to meander to breath-taking scenery which makes the most of both coast and countryside; ideal for keen ramblers and cyclists.
Make memories at Pinder’s Retreat!
A great spot to stay for hikers and wildlife watchers all year round, Filey is a classic English seaside village with a welcoming vibe and a relaxing holiday. Among the finest coastal attractions in Yorkshire. Set beside the spectacular Filey Bay, a long stretch of gorgeous beach, and Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north, this North East Coast fishing town has been a popular resort since Victorian times. A low headland, Filey Brigg shields Filey Bay and offers excellent sea and bird watching throughout the year. More than 250,000 seabirds spend the summer on the 400-foot-high Bempton Cliffs (rspb Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay. Many species of seabirds make their nests there, including gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots, and razorbills. Common and uncommon waders, seabirds, and migratory warblers, finches, and thrushes can all be seen in the Brigg area. Around the Brigg, you can spot seals, porpoises, dolphins, and even minke whales, in addition to the usual seagulls and seals. The town's architecture and layout—with its unique stores, winding alleys, and ginnels—make it feel like it was frozen in time. Beautiful beach huts are available for rent in the summer, and there is also a tiny coble dock where local fisherman keep their boats. In addition, Filey is home to the Filey Dams Natural Reserve, a wetland area frequented by migratory birds like swallows, sand martins, and house martins in the fall. Scarborough, a larger town not far away, is home to the UK's first and only waterpark of its kind, the Alpamare Waterpark, and many other attractions for visitors of all ages.

Filey is lovely and the house was really clean and comfortable. We would really recommend it to anyone who wants to visit

A 2 minute drive down the road is a country park which was good for early walks as free parking before 9am, if you follow the path down to the Yacht club youâll find the beach. The property is in a great location for Filey and exploring the surrounding areas. We all agreed that weâd like to return - the property was a good size for 2 adults along with a 16 & 10 years plus the dog.

Everything we needed was there, we are looking forward to returning. The weather was not the best with rain most days but it did not stop us enjoying our holiday. The garden was immaculate with garden furniture as well. It was a shame the weather stopped us spending more time outside.
