Guests say

Sea Dog is a holiday lodge with a beach theme, praised for its location and on-site facilities. Guests enjoyed the proximity to the beach and local attractions, with some highlighting the convenience of amenities like a dishwasher and washing machine. The property's setting in a quiet holiday village was appreciated, and the owner's responsiveness to guest satisfaction was noted positively.

Cleanliness was a recurring concern among guests, with several noting issues such as dust, cobwebs, and stained linens. Some guests found the property to be clean upon arrival, but the overall sentiment suggests room for improvement in this area.

The lodge's location is highly praised, with guests appreciating its proximity to the beach and local towns of Filey and Scarborough. The steep walk to the beach is noted, but considered well worth the effort.

Comfort received mixed reviews. While some guests found the lodge comfortable and cosy, others mentioned issues with worn furniture and uncomfortable mattresses, suggesting that some updates are needed.

Facilities and maintenance feedback was mixed. Positive remarks were made about the availability of a cooker, dishwasher, and washing machine. However, guests also reported maintenance issues such as broken decking ropes and the need for a fresh coat of paint.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the owner. Therefore, this score is set to null.

The lodge and facilities were all exceptional. There are a few minor things that it would have been nice to have: Visitors book (with a pocket for the leisure pass as we couldn’t find it until we left - thankfully the leisure centre staff weren’t bothered) Personalised recommendations re places to eat and visit rather than just menus Jar of dog treats? Chopping board Cling film / foil and/or sandwich bags Washing up liquid, laundry liquid (little samples for one wash would be fine) Salt and pepper Hand Soap in bathrooms, cups for toothbrushes *****New Pillows and mattress needed urgently for master bed *****Hoover not working Took us ages to work out that the bathroom lights didn’t have a switch!!!! First fire in log burner equipment would have been nice as we arrived after shop closed. Extra tea towel (s) Instructions for washing machine Nespresso machine Blankets for sofa or extra blankets and pillows in kids bedroom Plastic plates and bowls for kids Small saucepan Again, many thanks for our stay it was the best short break we’ve had in a long while. The easy check in, log burner, pool, and access to the beach were all highlights, the friendly staff, little shop, dog friendly beach, full size dishwasher and fab showers would bring us back in a heartbeat.

Very warm and cosy on an evening after being out and about through the day. The indoor pool was great and the gym the on site pub was handy for a meal which was reasonable. Would like to see a something to keep the leisure pass in as this always seams to go walkies that’s people for you. All in all a great stay we look forward to our next visit.

The pool was excellent and we only had to queue for 10 minutes on one occasion. There were no leisure passes in the cottage but we asked at reception and they were provided. The beach is stunning, and worth the cost of the holiday alone. I felt the quality of the food in the pub had decreased since last year. We ate there for one meal but ventured into Filey on the other occasions we wanted to dine out. The cottage itself was exactly as described, we had no issues with the standard of cleaning that other reviews had mentioned. I would agree that it would benefit from more crockery though! Very handy to have your own parking space, although it is a tight squeeze.
