About this property
Quarterdeck is a small but perfectly formed little cottage close to the sea above Scarborough's North Bay. You will feel right at home upon entering, with this accommodation offering a tranquil setting to go about your day in a peaceful location. The open plan sitting area is a charming place to socialise in the evening, or enjoy a good book on a free afternoon, cosying up in front of the warming fire. To the back of the room, a well equipped kitchen is complete with all of the necessary essentials, ideal for preparing those home cooked meals before heading back into the lounge to enjoy on the fold out table, amongst the comfortable interior.
Wander up to the next floor, where you will arrive at a bathroom, perfect for getting ready in the morning, or relaxing after an adventure filled day. Across the way, a king-size bedroom is a perfect night time escape, where you can sleep peacefully amongst the pretty décor. This room also comes complete with fitted wardrobes so you can store your belongings and any extras that you bring along. To enjoy some 'me time' why not spend an afternoon in the garden, reflecting on your adventures, and planning those upcoming journeys. Scarborough has much to offer, with North Bay and South Bay providing two stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches certainly worth a visit.
The Alphamere Waterpark and Scarborough North Cliff Golf Club both sit nearby for a fun-packed day out. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor fun, from lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way to cycle routes. Everything you could expect and more from a delightful seaside getaway.

The 13amp single socket on the landing was loose and needed repair before it could be safely used. As a retired electronics engineer turned latterly to a health and safety inspector I was disappointed to find an electrical outlet in that state. I couldnât see the point of having a bath with a shower over the bath when the bath taps only fed the shower and wouldnât fill the bath, why have a bath you couldnât use unless you wanted to spent an age filling it with the shower. We particularly pick sites with secure outdoor space so we can relax outside with a coffee, my wife has a disability that impacts her walking so we usually stay at the propertyâs every other day and sit out talking ect. The outdoor space was disgusting. The grass was 13/14cm long and when I checked it I found several places where dogs had been to the toilet. I picked some up but gave up in disgust, if you want pictures I can send you some. The table and two chairs had an ashtray full of water and cigarette ash and stubbed out cigarettes. The neighbours next door even offered the use of their garden for our use because of the state of our space. As a plus point the parking was easily accessed and had ample room for two cars if needed. Overall my view was, although the house was warm and the sleeping arrangements warm and comfortable we would not pick the house again. I will add, but Iâm not surprised, this is the first Sykes cottage we have stayed in that had no comments book for customer feed back.

But we noticed a few things from last time. There were spiders and cobwebs in the bedroom & cobwebs up high in the bathroom & lounge. The bath taps are loose when you have a shower. The information about bin days needs updating, and we brought DVDs but couldn't use them because the DVD player can't be connected to the television. But overall we had a pleasant stay.
