  We know what to expect with Sykes and we got exactly what we had expected, a cottage of the highest standard.

  The cottage was spotless, possibly one of the cleanest we have ever been to with an abundance of materials to keep it so. It is full of almost everything you would need with a lot of extras which was useful. One of the best things for us was the double bed was so comfortable . There were a couple of things we could have done with but leaving a note for the owner is always best as everyone is different. The cottage is in a quiet location but close to the amenities of a supermarket and post office in the next village and Scarborough itself. The parking was good, we have a large car and that fitted perfectly. The small courtyard garden was perfect for our dog and as advertised it isn't enclosed and it is very dark at night. There is a great outside table and an abundance of chairs. The attention to the overall detail in this classic cottage is perfect and almost anyone could have a great stay. If I have one observation it would be that the Chesterfield sofas look great but in reality we found them uncomfortable BUT this is just our opinion . This cottage makes a great get a away and bolt hole for anyone and in current times knowing that great care has been taking in its cleanliness.

  Wow first impression spotlessly clean and smells lovely, inside and out has the wow factor.

  Parking literally just outside the enclosed back patio perfect for our furboy met by Julia owner who went through need to know basics welcome gift basket of tea coffee milk and biscuits and fresh flowers a very nice touch. Upstairs 2 very large bedrooms and bathroom also separate toilet downstairs which was perfect for us oldies. The best welcome information folder I have seen explains all the questions I would have asked. Beds are super comfy best I’ve slept on beautiful decor throughout with gorgeous soft furnishings very cozy. Luxurious m&s towels sheets and top quality pots pans cutlery lots of books games and Netflix the area is perfect for touring Scarborough Whitby Pickering and beautiful villages May cottage is just stunningly beautiful credit to Julia and Michael if we had one comment it would be the settees are a little low down for us oldies but don’t take that away from everything else and thank you so much for letting us stay in your fabulous cottage we will definitely return. Booking through Sykes always a pleasure.

  It was a gorgeous stay, with very little in the terms of flaws.

  The view is incredible, and its perfect for a cosy little getaway. The hot tub is also a perfect size and comfortably fits four adults (something you don't find often) Our only comments were when we arrived, the dishwasher was still full with dirty pots from people before, so we had to remove these and wash everything before we could even make a cup of tea. The front door was also broken (seemed to have dropped) and we struggled to shut this properly every time we left the building. The bedroom upstairs could also do with some form of mirror, even a small one, as four people trying to get ready in one mirror downstairs is incredibly difficult. The bathroom, although gorgeous, is incredibly slippy underfoot once wet. Although none of this would deter us from staying again, i feel we would come more prepared next time (bringing own glasses etc). There was only 3 bowls in the kitchen which made breakfast and dessert difficult. A beautiful stay on the whole.

  We have enjoyed many holidays in the Dales and Lakes over the past 10 years or more.

  We found Londesborough Cottage to be the best equpped and most comfortable cottage we have visited so far and don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet 'away from it all' break but within easy reach of many of Yorkshire's fine towns and villages. This is not your average dog friendly cottage, this is a well appointed home that has been well maintained. The cottage is ideal for a couple or small family (we were a party of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog) and we were surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was at night. We have probably never slept better whilst on holiday. The owner provided useful information in advance to make sure we got the most from the week and we were lucky in having hot sunny weather for most of the time. Sykes were as efficient as ever from the initial booking through to making sure we had all the information we needed. Needless to say, we will be booking Londesborough Cottage again next year.

  Absolutely stunning property and location.

  The grounds and buildings looked exactly like the pictures, if not better. Inside The Stables also didn’t disappoint. Clean and tidy and well presented to a high spec. The hot tub was a great feature, however, we didn’t bring extra towels so had to use our bathroom towels. It definitely didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves! Also please note there’s no freezer so don’t bring frozen goods. Lots of lovely space for cooking and plenty of fridge and cupboard space. Only a couple of things would make the property even better. Mirrors in the bedrooms or living area, as there was only one mirror in the bathroom which isn’t ideal when there are 4 adults getting ready. Also no hand soap in the bathroom so add this to your shopping list. Overall this is a beautiful place to stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Already looking to book again later in the year.
