Not to be missed is the five minute drive to Ravenscar, where you can walk down to the foot of the cliffs to view the resident seal colony; an incredible sight all year round. Ideally placed, a short drive brings you to the historic seaside port of Whitby, famous for its imposing abbey, cobbled narrow streets and wonderful fish and chips! Visit nearby Grosmont and experience a trip back in time on the steam railway, or explore the pretty inland villages such as Goathland (Aidensfield) and the market towns of Pickering and Malton.

The setting is excellent with morning walks in the countryside on the doorstep with no need to start the car. And plenty of seating places outside to enjoy that cup of something hot or glass of something cold. We were greeted with a lovely gift from Pippa and Graham - some cake and tea/coffee. From there it was all great. Warm and comfortable with all the facilities needed to make for a great break away.
