We had a lovely New Year break at The Yorkshireman! We were greeted by lovely hosts and the most generous welcome pack of goodies we’ve come across. It was dark when we arrived, and so it was amazing to wake up to the wonderful sea views. The cottage has ample room for three adults, and is beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. It was also lovely and warm despite the freezing temperatures outside. We loved exploring beautiful Ravenscar and the surrounding coast. Walking down to the beach to see the hundreds of seals was a highlight, as were the midnight fireworks at Robin Hood’s Bay. Thank you Tracey, Rob and Abbie for a lovely stay!

Not a pleasant experience and one we would not repeat. The cottage itself was quite nice. The biggest issue was the temperature. Freezing cold. Heating controlled from the main house and we had to text if we needed it on more. In winter a couple of hours in a morning and a couple in the evening is not enough. Stickers reminding you to turn everything off! Attitude of owner not particularly pleasant. Expected us to sit covered in blankets rather than use heating. No thanks. I go on holiday for a nice comfortable respite. His idea of warm when wearing thick winter clothing and a coat is not the same as ours! 17 degrees is COLD.

Fabulous place. Quiet and stunning sea views. Not much to do in village but really close to towns and amenities. Cottage was immaculate. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Hosts very friendly. Would definately recommend.
