Scratch cards provided for on road parking nearby.. ’Coast Apartment’ is a delightful second floor apartment positioned in a quiet, private location yet right in the heart of the bustling town of Whitby. The property has been refurbished to a very good standard with stylish, modern decor and furnishings throughout. There are stunning views of the Esk River to one side and the abbey on the other, which is lit up at night. Please note that there are steep stairs, which may be unsuitable for those less mobile. The property provides the perfect base for couples looking to explore this beautiful coastline and is within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations.
Whitby itself has much to offer. The town centre is literally 20 yards from the property where you can find a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops, where you can but the famous Whitby Jet jewellery. There are also some excellent award winning restaurants where you sample many mouth watering seafood dishes that Whitby is famous for. The golden, sandy beach is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and is 3 miles long. Whitby hosts many music festival weekends including the sixties weekend, soul weekend and Goth weekends, which attract many visitors all year round. The area is a haven for keen ramblers and cyclists with many tracks and pathways close by including the famous 110 mile Cleveland Way that can be picked up on the cliff top. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages dotted along the North Yorkshire National Park areas, or the excellent North York Moors steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Gothland otherwise known as ’Heartbeat Country’. The lovely coastal resorts of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.

Nice comfortable and well equipped flat in a very central location. Lovely views over the rooftops to the harbour and over to the abbey. We have been a number of times to this flat so obviously it must be good. I must say it could do with a few improvements though. The window in the living room has been stuck for a few years, the fan heater in the bathroom doesn’t work and some of the buttons on the tv remote control weren’t working (and yes I did replace the batteries) but I found a workaround so wasn’t worth reporting. The flat is one of the few nowadays that doesn’t have WiFi which I think is becoming essential although I suppose that would result in a price increase. The access stairs are very steep and in some need of decoration but if you can overlook this and don’t have mobility issues then it’s all fine once you’re inside the flat. Scratch cards are provided for car parking in zone W but it’s just luck on finding a space nearby. In summary, I’d recommend the flat and would certainly consider returning in the future.

Quite a few steps up to the apartment with luggage etc and parked about a 5 min walk away. . However, once settled in was a lovely place with great view of the harbour and the Abbey. Well equipped with everything you need. No wifi, but mobile reception was pretty good.
