Moonshine Loft offers a charming and quirky base in Whitby, with guests praising its excellent central location and comfortable bed. The property is well-organised and provides lovely views from the top floor. However, the stairs can be challenging for those with mobility issues, and there was an isolated mention of cleanliness concerns. The inclusion of a parking permit is a helpful bonus for those arriving by car.
Most guests found the apartment clean and tidy, though one review noted issues with stained bed sheets and makeup residue, suggesting occasional lapses in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised, with guests highlighting its convenience for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area, as well as the benefit of a parking permit.
Guests found the bed very comfortable and the loft well-organised, but the numerous stairs may impact comfort for those with mobility concerns.
The property is described as compact but well-equipped with everything needed for a stay. The parking permit is appreciated, though the stairs may be a drawback for some.
There is no mention of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

My Girlfriend and I are a young couple, new to driving, live in Liverpool and are not the most healthy of people but still relatively active and fit, making the 4 flights of stairs and many, many hills not a concern for ourselves. We spent a week in this accommodation and it was absolutely fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable and completely clean as soon as we arrived (which considering i had just driven 150 miles, was a blessing) and we fell asleep instantly.Simply put, we loved: The vinyl player, the amount of random scary movies, the Dracula themed decor and the whole quirkiness of the space, the easy to use cooking appliances where especially important to me as i work for a massive kitchen retailer 😂.The only area of improvements for me where: the floor within the kitchen/living space was uneven due to previous booming of the flooring panels and was a slight shock but was not a disaster or deal breaker. My only other concern was that the bedroom window appeared to have some obvious wear to the right side of the frame when you open the window. The location is about <5 minutes from the main harbour, which was fantastic with plenty to do and endless restaurants to eat in; up until about 10pm and then the town goes quiet with so many relaxing benches and local pubs to enjoy the sunset with a drink/snack.So overall: Location superb, food fantastic, plenty of hot & clean drinking water, Bed was epic and the horror/romantic setting was really amazing for some sweet nights curled up watching movies. (The beanbag was epic)We will be back. And we hope that people enjoy our 3 little Dvds that we left in order to make the night watching a little lighter 😂 Just that one note to management about the floor, might be worth looking into it.

The loft was a good base. And location for Whitby and surrounding area. Unfortunately, we did struggle with the stairs, so if you're not fit, it's not the place for you. Yes, it is was are fault but booked in a hurry as it was a last minute mini break. If you are taking a car, you do need to make sure you get a parking permit as all the roads use them.

Our second stay at Moonshine Loft. Small and compact with quirky decoration. To really enjoy you need to be fit enough to manage the stairs. As a base in Whitby it is in an excellent location. The car park pass is a real bonus.
