Guests say

Newton Cottage in Whitby is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and prime location with easy access to local amenities and scenic walks. Guests appreciate the proximity to a friendly pub, a shop, and transport links. While parking can be challenging, the cottage's charm and the surrounding area's beauty make for a delightful stay.

Guests consistently note the cottage's spotless condition, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The cottage's location is celebrated for its convenience to a pub, shop, and bus stop, as well as its walking distance to Robin Hood's Bay, making it an ideal spot for exploring.

Reviews highlight the comfortable bedding and overall cosy feel of the cottage, though a few guests mention low beams and a low shower door as minor discomforts.

Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-equipped property and luxury touches. However, some guests suggest the back courtyard could benefit from maintenance.

While guests appreciate the provision of tea, coffee, and milk, there is insufficient information to determine if these are consistent gestures of thoughtfulness or a one-off occurrence, thus the score is set to null.

The property was warm and comfortable and good for 2 people (+ our small dog). There’s a pub opposite and a local store too which was handy. Parking is on the road which worked out fine for us but it was quite full occasionally. We always managed to get a spot directly outside near the bus stop, It’s a great location for visiting Robin Hoods Bay(15-20min walk) Whitby and the surrounding area. If you don’t want to drive then the bus is a good option with the bus stop virtually on the doorstep. £4 each (as of Oct 2024) gets you right into the centre of Whitby and back. It also runs past other coastal attractions both north and south.
