Cannot fault this accommodation, it was spotlessly clean and the furnishings throughout were of a really high standard. The welcome pack was fabulous. We stayed as a group of friends for a long weekend, and there was more than enough space to accommodate us all comfortably. The house was so lovely, we spent a couple of nights back there after busy days, rather than go out again in to Whitby. I’d definitely stay again.

We stayed at Normanby House over Christmas and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, the house felt welcoming, festive, and perfect for a family getaway.One of the standout features is the fantastic sociable layout. The through kitchen, dining, and living space worked brilliantly for Christmas. It meant we could cook, eat, and relax together without feeling separated, which really added to the experience. The living space was cosy and ideal for our large party.The bedrooms were lovely, comfortable, and well laid out, and the whole house was immaculately clean. A real highlight was the goodies hamper on arrival, a thoughtful touch, especially the delicious bakes from Bothams’ just round the corner.It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into making Normanby House a great place to stay. By no means are these complaints, but a few small areas for improvement:The top bathroom doesn’t have a shower attachment, despite being advertised, which would be useful to address.The kitchen could benefit from a bit more serving and food-prep equipment, particularly for larger or festive meals.A mirror in the top-floor double bedroom would be a helpful addition.Overall, Normanby House was a fantastic place to spend Christmas, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located, and thoughtfully presented home in Whitby.
