Rosie’s Retreat is a beautiful Grade II listed town house positioned in an ideal location right in the heart of the historic town of Whitby. It has been refurbished to a very high standard with high quality furnishings and décor throughout. It provides the perfect base for couples looking to explore this stunning coastline and the North Yorkshire Moors National park areas. The enclosed garden terrace is a sun trap and therefore the ideal place to do a spot of sunbathing whilst relaxing with a glass of wine. The bustling town centre of Whitby is right on your doorstep with numerous amenities to suit all tastes. It also hosts many events and festivals throughout the year including Sixties weekends, Soul weekends, Goth weekends and many more making Whitby a very popular place to visit. There are also a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops, the infamous fish and chip shops and three miles of golden sandy beach. There are also several restaurants that have won many awards for excellent cuisine especially if you enjoy fish. The tour bus is a great way to get around and to make sure you don’t miss out on everything Whitby has to offer. You could also take a trip out on one of the pleasure boats where you can enjoy a trip around the harbour and out to sea where you can view Whitby in all its glory. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages along the way, or the excellent North York Moor steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Goathland otherwise known as ‘Heartbeat Country’. The lovely coastal resorts of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.

Early feb break, first time stay at this wonderful little gem. Location is great for all the shops and bars and eateries whitby as to offer. The cottage was warm and comfortable for us 4 adults and 2 doggies. Bedrooms are great especialy with both being en suite too. We ate out everyday so did not utilise the kitchen to full use(everything there if we needed too), 2 minute walk to take the dogs out near pannet park. Parking was'nt a problem either with the scratch card provided. Would highly recomend the cottage for anyone lookimg near central whitby.

Rosie’s Retreat is a home from home cottage in a great location, close to all Whitby has to offer, only a few minutes walk to the harbour side, or West Cliff. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and very well equipped, and has everything you could need during your stay. There are lovely cafe’s and some great pubs just around the corner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosie’s Retreat and it definitely won’t be our last.

This is the 4th time we’ve been to Rosie’s Retreat. It’s in a great location and good value for money. It’s good that each bedroom has its own bathroom and it’s also dog friendly.
