Rosie’s Retreat is a beautiful Grade II listed town house positioned in an ideal location right in the heart of the historic town of Whitby. It has been refurbished to a very high standard with high quality furnishings and décor throughout. It provides the perfect base for couples looking to explore this stunning coastline and the North Yorkshire Moors National park areas. The enclosed garden terrace is a sun trap and therefore the ideal place to do a spot of sunbathing whilst relaxing with a glass of wine. The bustling town centre of Whitby is right on your doorstep with numerous amenities to suit all tastes. It also hosts many events and festivals throughout the year including Sixties weekends, Soul weekends, Goth weekends and many more making Whitby a very popular place to visit. There are also a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops, the infamous fish and chip shops and three miles of golden sandy beach. There are also several restaurants that have won many awards for excellent cuisine especially if you enjoy fish. The tour bus is a great way to get around and to make sure you don’t miss out on everything Whitby has to offer. You could also take a trip out on one of the pleasure boats where you can enjoy a trip around the harbour and out to sea where you can view Whitby in all its glory. Whitby is surrounded by spectacular scenery of the North York Moors which you can enjoy by taking either the Esk valley train that takes you to Middlesbrough stopping at the pretty villages along the way, or the excellent North York Moor steam train that will take you from Whitby to the lovely market town of Pickering stopping off at Goathland otherwise known as ‘Heartbeat Country’. The lovely coastal resorts of Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are all within close proximity and are well worth a visit.

Whitby is our "go to" place and we've been doing it for 40+ years in various types of properties ranging from campsites, cottage rental, B&B, and hotels and Rosies Retreat ranks very highly amongst the best we have stayed at.Our only niggle was with Cottages.com which had an office just round the corner from the property when we arrived, but then half way through the holiday when we needed to speak to them, they had relocated themselves to new accommodation and renamed themselves, we think, as the address given did not have cottages.com in there, and contacting them by phone was very difficult.
