It is also in a good location being close to Whitby, supermarkets, various walking trails including the Cleveland Way. During our stay, the lane where the cottage is located flooded in both directions for a short time after a period of heavy rain which made lane impassable for a normal saloon car. Building works directly behind Milton Cottage were in full swing during our stay, starting at 8 a.m. Not a peaceful location when masonry saws are being used and made it feel as if we were holidaying on a building site, instead of the peaceful holiday it should have been. Noise from building work is unavoidable at times, but as paying guests we were not advised of these works either during or before our stay which we thought was very inconsiderate of the owner/s.
