The Anchorage is a charming, peaceful cottage offering outstanding sea views and a tranquil rural setting, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped interior, as well as the beautiful walks and sunsets right on the doorstep. While a few minor maintenance issues and the remote location are noted, these do not detract from the overall positive experience. The cottage is ideal for those seeking quiet and natural beauty, with easy access to the North Yorkshire coast and countryside.

Multiple guests mention the cottage is very clean, spotless, and fresh-smelling, with no significant complaints about cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its peace, stunning sea views, and proximity to beautiful walks, though it is remote and requires a car.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, cosy, and homely, with good beds and heating. Some mention steep stairs and draughty top bedrooms in winter, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is well-equipped, but guests note minor maintenance issues such as a sticking back door, broken outside light, toaster, and limited kitchen storage. Some appliances are located in the garage, which is less convenient.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Lovely cottage with fantastic views. Great walks from the door step. You definitely need a car as no local facilities and no public transport. The peace and quiet and the stars at night were all down to it’s fabulous rural location. Would visit again for the views alone

The Anchorage is a bright, spacious house perfect for a quiet getaway. Our family of 4 had more than enough room to relax. Visiting in winter, we expected it to be chilly, but the top bedrooms were so drafty that the ever present wind rattled the doors. Luckily our children are small enough to camp on the floor so we were all able to sleep. The views and walks from the house are amazing, and there are several restaurants and things to do within a 20 minute drive. It was confusing trying to find the washing machine and freezer as there wasn’t any information, but once that was sorted we had a lovely time.
