Lawns House Farm is a brick built, semi-detached, former farmhouse, set on a working farm in between the villages of North Duffield and Skipwith just twelve miles south of the city of York. The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Just 12 miles south of York are the pretty Yorkshire villages of North Duffield and Skipwith. Each village has a lovely green with pond and a traditional country pub and is composed of a mixture of old red brick and modern houses. Skipwith's church dates back to the Anglo Saxon times, whilst the North Duffield equivalent is a 19th Century Methodist chapel. Ideal for escaping all the stresses and strains of modern life, these peaceful little settlements are within easy driving distance of a 1000-acre nature reserve and Skipton common, making this a fabulous location for bird-watchers. The market town of Selby is just seven miles away and boasts a beautiful abbey, whilst York Minster is also within easy driving distance and has park and ride facilities to make getting in and out of the city easier.
