Peter – 15 Oct 2018
"Really nice cottage on remote working farm. Very quiet getaway, enjoyed our break there."
Nathan – 7 Oct 2018
"Fantastic host who was very helpful and always available. Very clean and and everything you’d need for a longer stay (we were only visiting for a wedding at Saltmarshe hall (which is no more than a 5 minute walk away). Plenty of space if we’d have had our little boy with us. Tea/coffee provided (need your own milk). Would definitely stay again if wanting to stay in that area."
Mariser – 20 Aug 2018
"Owner was very welcoming. Lovely surroundings. Only problem was the shower. However would definitely return. The children loved it. Was great location to explore other parts of Yorkshire."
Andrew – 17 Aug 2018
"Very nice people, good rural location. Problem with the shower hose though, this had signs of a repair but still leaked badly."

"We had such a great stay we like to go back in summer"
Dorothy – 24 Jun 2017
"The cottage is clean and comfortable but we felt conned as the photo on your internet site is not the view from the cottage but a river view if you climb a flight of rough steps then you could look over the river banking at your river view photo. The family are great, helpful and friendly. The view from he cottage is of the farmyard and very old falling down buildings. We had chosen that cottage as we needed to rest and not travel about. We found a shaded corner in front of the cottage which was warm and sheltered but looked onto the falling down buildings. We had expected to be able to sit and look at the river view but we did come home rested."

"Booked for parents. They had a lovely time and the owner was very accommodating to all their needs."
"daughter and family are very helpful but needs cleaning badly.daughter told us on 1 day shower was broken and it was still the same when we left.need to tell people that cottage is smack bang in the middle of where the cows stay and farmers make their feed which we also had to use dirty washing machine where farmers make this feed its very very dirty.cows about 30 yards away from cottage to close 4 us.wont stay again."
"Facilities really let this cottage down. My bed broke in the middle of the night, one of the legs fell off. Also the sofa bed legs did not rest on the floor securely. Missing essential items such as chopping board and grill pan. As the location is so remote going to the shops is not a quick fix."

"Excellent property, clean, easy to find and if you have children paradise! as the accommodation is smack in the middle of a farm. The owners who are farmers make you truly welcome, you arrive as strangers and leave as friends. Aug 2012."

"A lovely cottage in a wonderful setting, owners were fantastic and kept our children entertained with the working farm, highly recommended. April 2012. "

"The photos on the website don’t really do justice to the size and spaciousness of the cottage. The hosts were really welcoming and warm. They patiently answered all ours and the children’s questions about the farm and even let us help with parts of the daily routine. As it was coming up to lambing time the sheep were living just outside our front door, which was so exciting for the children. The area itself is very nice and we have lots of simple days out in the local area. The park and marshes at Howden were well worth a visit and we had a lovely day out in Goole at the pool and the waterways museum. York is a very manageable day trip, but we often ended up just enjoying the local environment. We cycled around the quiet local roads as it was very safe for the children and had a lovely time walking along the river - you could feel so remote very quickly. Finally we thought the price was very good value indeed. Feb 2012."

"Very friendly welcome, beautiful cottage. The animals were an added bonus! Not far from York. Stockeld Park, nr Harrogate is well worth a visit too, we enjoyed Nordic skiing and ice skating. Nov 2011."
Previous guest
"The property was fantastic. Well furnished and well equipped, clean and very comfortable. It was great to be on a working farm and the children (aged 3yrs and aged 18 months) loved seeing all the animals. The highlight was undoubtedly the warm welcome of the Dale Family who couldn’t have done more for us! Sept 2011."
Previous guest
"Deep in the countryside but within easy location of many attractions. Hosts excellent and attentive to detail. April 2011."

"One of the nicest properties I have stayed in for the price range, made very welcome by the owners who couldn’t have done anymore to make our stay more welcoming. thank you all. Aug 2010. "
