Guests generally appreciate the cottage's cleanliness, spaciousness, and peaceful rural setting. The property is well-equipped and offers a comfortable stay with friendly hosts. Some guests mention thoughtful touches like home-baked cakes. While there are comments about the need for updates and minor maintenance issues, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of reviews praise the cottage's cleanliness, with several guests describing it as spotless and cleaned to a high standard. A few comments about cobwebs and dirty windows suggest minor lapses, but these do not detract significantly from the overall perception of a clean property.
The location is appreciated for its peacefulness and proximity to local attractions, with easy access to York and other areas. The rural setting on a working farm is a highlight for many, though some guests find the access road bumpy and muddy, which affects the score.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with large rooms and a cosy atmosphere. However, several reviews mention the need for updated furniture and mattresses, and issues with water pressure and heating control. These factors lead to a slightly reduced score in comfort.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as low water pressure, broken fixtures, and a lack of oven gloves. Some guests also note the absence of promised items like a BBQ and games. These comments suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
