It is cosy and very convenient as a bolt hole when staying in York, it being just a stoneâs throw from the Minster and the city centre, yet far enough away to be peaceful at the end of a busy day. The apartment is warm and cosy, bed is comfy - if a little soft and the kitchen is fully equipped for most culinary needs. The parking space is also a bonus. However, I must agree with others who have complained about the hot water; while the kitchen tap always provided very hot water, it seems that the shower and bath are âriggedâ to provide a trickle of barely warm water and if one person has managed a shower this way then the second is likely not to be even that lucky. I do not recall this problem when we stayed previously. Also, due to the time of year and the single glazing the windows are constantly running with condensation. This cannot be prevented but due to infrequent cleaning the window panes and frames were covered in green and black mould. I would suggest that the windows need cleaning between occupancies to keep this to a minimum.

Also the fact that parking was included,. Trouble free collection of keys, access simple. Quiet location considering you are bang in the middle of York. Not so Good - Extractor fan in bathroom still not working (was like that when we visited a year ago) causing mould on ceiling, tiles etc. The two sash windows let in the cold outside December air, sitting on the sofa was like having your back against an open fridge (secondary glazing perhaps). Kitchen could do with a fan rather than just a open or shut vent (I believe the over hob extract is recirculation only). Overall - The plusses far outweigh the minuses, welcoming sweets and bottle of bubbly a nice touch, towels are provided, selection of coffee pods in the kitchen. Have stayed twice now for the 2023 & 2024 Xmas markets, will probably book again for 2025

Unfortunately the apartment had not been serviced. Dirty bedding/ rubbish plus a horrible smell was our welcome. After finally contacting the owner with assurances of later date recompense. We left for several hrs until cleaned. Subsequently we lost our itinerary as there was no available bathing/changing facilities in turn ruing the whole weekend. Thank you!
