Guests say

Bridge House offers a charming and spacious cottage experience in an excellent location, just a short walk from the centre of Helmsley and close to many North Yorkshire attractions. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, relaxing living spaces, and well-equipped kitchen. While some visitors found the property clean and cosy, others noted areas needing redecoration, maintenance, and improved cleanliness. The lack of WiFi and parking confusion were mentioned by several guests. Overall, the cottage provides a lovely base for exploring the area, with its traditional character and convenient setting standing out.

Reviews are mixed, with some guests finding the property clean and cosy, while others reported significant cleanliness issues such as dust, dirty appliances, musty bedding, and even dog faeces in the garden. The inconsistency in cleaning standards was a recurring theme.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to Helmsley’s amenities and the cottage’s suitability as a base for exploring North Yorkshire. The setting is described as fantastic and convenient, with only minor mentions of road proximity.

Most guests found the cottage spacious and the beds very comfortable, with relaxing living areas. However, some noted that maintenance issues and general wear and tear detracted from overall comfort.

Facilities are variable; guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and multiple shower rooms, but several mentioned broken appliances, lack of WiFi, and maintenance issues such as insecure handrails and rotting window frames.

A welcome pack was mentioned and appreciated by one guest, but as gifts are not guaranteed for all stays, this cannot be assured for future guests.

Lovely property. Good quality fixtures and fittings. Some upgrading needed to be worthy of a top rating.

The cottage is in need to some repairs (blown plaster on stairs/living room wall, banister coming away from the wall, window frames rotting, plants growing in through the windows) and there is no parking assigned to this property (which to cottage.com select indicates that there is).But if you just call this issues - rustic, then it is very comfortable and location is perfect.

Very disappointing, property dirty and in disrepair. Window frames rotten, multiple cracking in walls, handrail on stairs insecure, dishwasher not working, rusted garden furniture (unusable). Dog faeces in garden. NO onsite private parking as advertised and verbally advised by owner leading to notes on vehicle by angry neighbour. CERTAINLY A PROPERTY TO AVOID.
