What a stunning cottage in a stunning location! Absolutely beautiful! The cottage was cosy and well situated. It is spacious inside and outside. The aga was a novelty having never used one before, not for the faint hearted. The host had left milk, coffee, tea and sugar for us, a packet of biscuits would have been a nice touch too :-). Plenty of hot water and the shower and bath were both great. We loved that the towels were the larger bath sheet size and snuggly. The mattresses on the king size beds could do with being replaced. We did have to take a picture down as it spooked our children, they were convinced it was haunted LOL. We all enjoyed the garden which is huge! The children enjoyed the trampoline and generally running about playing in the garden. Our dog loved snuffling in the bushes and was super excited when she discovered a tennis ball! She thoroughly enjoyed running around the garden. The local area is stunning and we enjoyed some walks from the door step including visiting Rievaulx Abbey which is breath taking! We couldn't believe how big it was and we could see it from the kitchen window! We enjoyed trips to Helmsley, Kirbymoorside, Ryedale, Whitby, Malton and the Yorkshire Lavender Farm. We love this end of the country and could happily live in Yorkshire! The village and cottage were so peaceful, and it was so dark at night you could see the stars and hear the owls hooting. We loved watching the swallows going in and out of the horse stables opposite the cottage. Overall it was an excellent cottage and holiday and we will definitely return! Thank you :-) x

Very nice comfortable within easy reach of picturesque Yorkshire villages. New sofa may be needed soon and outdoor loungers would be nice

We loved the location but were wary about the bumpy driveway access especially if it had been wet. It was also a bit of an issue having to have the aga on all the time in very hot weather. There was also a need for more instructions in the cottage about equipment.. James the estate manager was very helpful especially when we had a power cut!
