Tucked away behind the local award winning craft butcher’s shop, this charming and elegantly furnished cottage is in the heart of the appealing village of Edzell, with its lovely little shops and eating places, as well as a quality parkland 18 hole golf course, one of many in the area. Totally refurbished in 2021 it offers relaxing holiday accommodation for families or couples, with muted colours and tasteful soft furnishings. A perfect base from which to explore the rugged beauty of the nearby Angus Glens. Tarfside and Glenesk are good starting points for some excellent walks amongst stunning scenery and diverse wildlife.
Travel the length of the Victorian Heritage Trail, passing through Fettercairn with its Gothic Arch and local distillery (where tours can be taken) up through Cairn o’ Mount and into Royal Deeside, ending at Balmoral Castle, or spend relaxing days at the fine sandy beaches at St Cyrus, Lunan Bay and Montrose. There is ample fishing and golf in the area as well as some good eating places, or why not visit some of the stately homes including Glamis Castle. Alternatively travel a little further afield to St Andrews, Dundee or Perth for culture and visitor attractions including the V & A and RSS Discovery.

Butchers cottage is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Furnishing of great quality. Soft furnishings beautifully coordinated. The kitchen was very well equipped. The breakfast basket was delicious. Coffee, tea, jam, milk, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, cling film and tin foil were also provided. The back patio area was a little bare ,but a sun trap. The village had a good coffee shop Sinclairs, 2 x hotels and of course the family butchers. Lots to do further afield . House of Dun, St Cyrus beach, blue door walk various farm shops with coffee shops .

Great holiday would most certainly return,Great location to travel to other places. The edzell village is very peaceful,the tweedie serve lovely lunches & the panmure hotel is a very relaxing venue to have a refreshment or a meal Great quality & if you feel like night in relaxing and want to eat at he cottage the place to go is Bels butchers top quality and the staff could not be more helpful. I've been to quite a few cottages and places,but always look to return when available it's like home from home.during our stay bel come to the cottage to say goodbye as Bel was going away on holiday which was really nice of her never felt More welcome .

This is a lovely cottage in a lovely location The hostess made us so welcome and there was a lovely welcome pack from the butchers shop The cottage has everything you could wish for all mod cons and beautifully decorated so cosy and comfortable spotlessly clean There is lots of lovely walks for your dogs within easy reach we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone
