Guests say

Achabeg is a beautifully designed, modern cottage in a tranquil, scenic location overlooking Loch Sween. Guests consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen, as well as the large, dog-friendly garden and opportunities to spot local wildlife such as pine martens. The peaceful setting and proximity to walking trails and local attractions make it ideal for a relaxing retreat. While the majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one guest noted an issue with water quality. Overall, Achabeg offers a restful and memorable holiday experience.

Multiple reviews mention the property being impeccably clean and well maintained, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness.

The location is repeatedly described as stunning, peaceful, and offering beautiful views, with easy access to walks, wildlife, and local attractions. The only minor note is the single-track road, which some may find remote.

Guests highlight the comfort of the beds, the warmth from underfloor heating and wood burner, and the relaxing atmosphere. The spacious layout and cosy features are frequently praised.

The cottage is described as very well equipped, with a modern kitchen, air fryer, and good shower. One review mentioned a water quality issue, but otherwise facilities and maintenance are highly rated.

Hosts are described as helpful, responsive, and communicative, providing useful information before arrival. While guests felt well cared for, there is no mention of gifts or welcome packs, so these cannot be guaranteed.

We stayed at Achabeg for a fortnight and had an amazing time. The house has an elevated position with wonderful views looking down Loch Sween towards Jura, is very spacious and comfortable, and is well equipped for self catering.Communication with Jon was very easy and a few teething problems were sorted out very quickly.Achabeg is one of the best holiday homes that I have stayed in.The house is only 20 minutes from Lochiplhead for groceries and petrol along a very pretty single track road. The whole area is really interesting to explore from the Knapdale Beaver Centre to walks along the Crinan canal to the ancient history of Kilmartin Glen.Recommended.
