Set in an elevated position overlooking beautiful Balcary Bay in Auchencairn, this charming semi-detached cottage enjoys truly spectacular, uninterrupted sea views from every room. Whether you’re relaxing indoors or heading out for the day, the ever-changing coastal scenery provides a stunning backdrop throughout your stay. The cottage is perfectly placed for those who love the outdoors, with scenic coastal walks right from the doorstep and easy access to the renowned 7Stanes mountain biking trails. It also makes an ideal base for exploring the rich local history, with castles, abbeys, stately homes and ruins all within easy reach, as well as the picturesque Machars Peninsula and the rolling Galloway Hills. For day trips, the vibrant cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, the historic charm of Carlisle, and even the northern Lake District are all easily accessible. The property is comfortably arranged over two levels. Please note that there is a staircase leading to the bedrooms and bathroom, which is relatively steep; however, a secure handrail is provided for added support. With its peaceful setting, breathtaking views, and excellent location for exploring, this cottage offers a truly memorable coastal escape.

We had a wonderful week in this most idyllic location with its stunning view over Balcary Bay and with the loudest sound being birdsong.The cottage itself is spacious, comfortably furnished, well equipped and with every home comfort. Communication with Catherine was prompt and helpful. We much appreciated the welcome pack especially the home made blackcurrant jam, it was delicious.The local towns, Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright all merit a visit. If you want a long beach walk Sandyhills Bay is recommended.Thank you Catherine for a most enjoyable, peaceful holiday

Quiet and peaceful location ideal for walking on a number of routes round the bay. Kitchen well equipped. Lovely views from every room.One thing to be wary of is the steep stair to the bedrooms and bathroom.
