Wavecrest has been upgraded in 2019 and is a comfortable detached bungalow with the most stunning views over the Solway Firth. Open the door into the newly fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar opening onto the cosy living room and dining area, where you can sit and enjoy breakfast with those most magical views, the perfect start to your day. From the living room there is a conservatory where you can relax and enjoy the garden and the sound of the sea.
The coastal village of Southerness has undoubtedly some of the most outstanding views of the Solway Firth to the English Lake District. Explore the beach and the striking white landmark of the Lighthouse, built in 1749, or challenge yourself on the championship golf course.
From Wavecrest you have an ideal base in which to explore beautiful Dumfries and Galloway from its beaches, right on your doorstep, to coves, cliff top walks and forest trails. With countless historic sites throughout the region and many fun filled activities, there is something to suit all ages, while enjoying the spectacular scenery along the way.

Wavecrest is a fantastic little chalet/bungalow and I would really have to dig deep to find anything wrong with it. (we hid the monkey)! There is everything you need for a pleasurable stay away from home, the beds are very comfortable, the heating is perfect, the shower is to die for and the outside areas are fabulous. There is no direct access to the beach unless you fancy rock climbing, but the constantly changing views across the Solway Firth are incredible. The soundtrack of Oystercatchers and Curlews day and night is sublime. I would just tinker with the location details on arrival, we went round twice before seeing the huge WAVECREST sign! Our dogs were happy, the back is entirely secure, we just pushed a couple of the garden chairs up against some potential gaps that our escapologist Miniature Schnauzer may have attempted. They were fine supervised at the front. Southerness is a one horse village and out of season the Mini Market and Nisa had very little choice. Tesco up at Dumfries is about 30mins away so no big issue. The Paul Jones pub is great, we had two meals there and the food was faultless.It is clear to see that the owner of Wavecrest genuinely cares about their property and wants you to have a comfortable stay, thank you Mr H.

We had a lovely , comfortable stay at Wavecrest. Walks on the beach. Seeing all the wild birds . Watching the tide coming in and out. Paul Jones and Chip Shop good value for your money. Food was Excellent, Barney enjoyed the dog friendly menu meals.
