Beautifully decorated with a country theme throughout both the cosy living room and dining room have wood burning stoves so perfect whether you are curled up with a book or enjoying a family meal on those chillier evenings. Surrounded by beautiful countryside West Lanegate Farmhouse has a large enclosed garden bordered by farmland and probably the perfect spot to relax in the evening whilst enjoying the dark starry skies from your private hot tub!
Situated in a peaceful location, West Lanegate Farmhouse is only 4 miles from the county town of Dumfries where you will find a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as many interesting museums, galleries and of course Burns House, the home of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Walking in and around the area is a joy, from Dumfries there are beautiful riverside walks, many cliff top walks along the Solway coast and forest tracks inland. With several of the famed 7Stanes mountain bike routes close as well as many quiet country lanes to discover from West Lanegate Farmhouse it is a popular area for cyclists.
Take a drive along the coast taking in the lovely little coastal villages such as Kippford and Rockcliffe or enjoy a day at the beach at Sandy Hills. There are many historic sites along your way including Caerlaverock Castle and Drumlanrig Castle is a must where you can take a guided tour of the Castle or just enjoy the many acres of gardens. With so much to entertain all the family in and around the area West Lanegate Farmhouse is your perfect holiday destination. Beach 17½ miles. Pub and restaurant 3½ miles.

We had a wonderful break in this beautiful farmhouse. Spacious, relaxing, with a fantastic hot tub and had everything that we or the kids could possibly need. Within easy reach of Dumfries, with lots to do there (if you can pull yourself away from the farmhouse!). Loved the decor and the supersoft bedding, but the games room was a favourite. Can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you
