Set in a tranquil and secluded spot, the surrounding area offers miles of peaceful walks, with the Darngarroch viewpoint a mile north, looking out across Loch Whinyeon. Heading north, the immense Galloway Forest Park (10 miles) is a must for outdoor enthusiasts. To the south, Gatehouse of Fleet (4 miles) is home to a range of traditional pubs and restaurants, as well as a nine-hole golf course. The area also has some beautiful beaches including Sandgreen, Carrick and Mossyard, all within 10 miles. Other local landmarks include the Big Water of Fleet Viaduct, Glenquicken Stone Circle, Threave Garden, the Cocoabean Company and Kenmure Castle, all within 15 miles.
