Guests say

Driftwood in Kippford is a beautifully styled cottage with ample space, offering a comfortable stay for families and their pets. It boasts a convenient location with stunning views and high-quality amenities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches and responsive hosts, despite minor issues with cleanliness and ongoing construction nearby.

Most guests found Driftwood to be spotlessly clean, though there was a single mention of the property not being completely clean. This suggests that cleanliness is generally maintained to a high standard, with room for minor improvements.

The location is highly praised for its convenience and beautiful views, with easy access to local walks and amenities. However, some guests noted the presence of ongoing construction and a partially obscured view, which slightly detracts from the overall appeal.

Guests consistently report that the beds are super comfy, with plenty of space for relaxation and family gatherings. The presence of a lift for accessibility and the provision of a large, enclosed garden add to the comfort of the stay.

The property is well-equipped with top-quality appliances and spacious rooms. There were minor issues with hot water and fencing not being fully secure for small pets, but these were exceptions in an otherwise excellent provision of facilities.

While guests have mentioned a welcoming and attentive owner, there are no specific references to gifts being provided. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category, but guests should note that any gifts received are a bonus and not guaranteed.

We had a fabulous week staying at Driftwood. The house is lovely and has everything in it that you need to enjoy your holiday. We were lucky that the weather allowed us to enjoy the balcony which was an added bonus in espevially as it was October. Having my eldery mum wirh us, the lift was ideal and allowed her to move safely around the house. Driftwood is in a perfect spot to allow you to travel to different locations in and around the Solway Coast. The circular walk to Rockcliffe was the perfect morning walk with the dog stopping off at The Ark for a coffee and scone on the way back. Kippford also has a lovely community nature reserve which is great for a quick walk with the dog and to meet the locals for a chat. Would highly recommend a trip to Loch Arthur Farm shop both to enjoy something to eat and to stock up on the great produce available there. Best ice cream can be found at the Gelato hut at Ernespie Farm located on the outskirts of Castle Douglas. The Steamboat Inn at Carsethorn serves great food and it is a very scenic drive to get there so definitely worth a visit if staying at Driftwood. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the house to others wishing to holiday in Kippford or the surrounding area.
